I'm not sure why this exists when we already have File::stat, with an equivalent but simpler interface. The docs even link to File::stat in the "See Also" section, but give no comparison.

2011-02-23 - I now use Path::Class for all my needs.
2008-12-16 - I use this package since it's easy. It would be nice if the object supported ->basename and ->dirname properties as I keep needing them at the same time. This syntax is not documented File::Stat::OO->new({use_datetime=>1});
