I haven't used Plucene, so take my review with a huge grain of salt, but the Catalyst-based wiki MojoMojo switched from Plucene to KinoSearch.

Plucene (1.24)

A credit-worthy port of Lucene with excellent performance. Documentation is more then adequate giving a rapid development curve before you're up and running.
