Some of the worst Perl code I have read recently. The tarball pollutes the 'PDF' namespace. The synopsis examples don't even compile, let alone run. The documentation is completely out of step with the implementation.
Author does not appear to have ever run 'perl -wc Xtract.pm':
Unquoted string "tmp" may clash with future reserved word at Xtract.pm line 101.

"my" variable $xref masks earlier declaration in same scope at Xtract.pm line 399.
I gave up on attempting to understand the module code after fixing the above and then getting serious errors about missing methods.
