I've been using this module as boilerplate for my own Apache2::Filter handler, and boy has it saved me some work. Apache filters are not for the faint hearted, but there's a lot of detail with e.g. encoding and keep-alive implemented. This module will be firmly in my Apache proxy toolkit from now on.
